Summary/Abstract: The article presents a stone slab with an inscription in Otto man Turkish, which arrived largely by chance at the "Oriental Collections" Department of the National Library, and a manuscript from the Department's fund, in which, during research, we established that the text of this inscription appears. The inscription belongs to a water fountain (cheshma) built by Chelebi Aga in 1233 AH (1817-1818), who is identified from the manuscript as having been a zaim and zabit (governor/administrator) of Boyana. The fragment of the stone inscription has been in the Department since the late 1970s or early 1980s, and the Ottoman Turkish manuscript containing its text is of the insha type, belonging to the genre of Ottoman epistolary literature. The publication provides transliteration, transcription in Turkish Latin script, and a Bulgarian translation of the fountain inscription, as well as a transcription of the text within the manuscript.
