HISTORICAL BULGARIAN STUDIES IN AUSTRIA-HUNGARY

Summary/Abstract: In the present article we have briefly revealed the development of historical Bulgarian studies in Austria-Hungary and have presented the relevant research achieve-ments of scholars originating from the Eastern part of the Dual Monarchy, i.e. from Hun-gary, who appeared after the establishment of the Third Bulgarian State. For this purpose we have examined the scientific works and information-rich documentary heritage of Lajos Tallóczy, Adolf Strauss, Eusebius Fermendzhin, Ivan D. Shishmanov and Konstantin Jirečеk being kept in the Hungarian and Bulgarian archives.
