Summary/Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a growing role in foreign language learning, especially in assessing learners’ writing. This study examined 11 EFL compositions, evaluated by both an AI program and three teachers. Findings show AI offers speed, consistency, and objectivity, but struggles with content and organization. Thus, AI should be used as a supportive tool, complementing teachers rather than replacing them in EFL writing assessment.
