Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to try to answer the question: what linguistic phenomena deserve to be calledhybrid in the light of the discussed novels by young Polish authors. The general answer is: there aremany of them, but the most important are Polish-English bilingualism and Polish-Silesian bilingualism. The first one refers to the language of young Poles, and the second one to the users of Polish in Silesia, coming from different generations. Linguistic hybridity is also intensified by the great stylistic and linguisticdiversity of the texts, which results from the richness of the literary genres used and the formsof expression used, as well as from the rich iconographic setting of some texts, at the same time causingtheir intended heterogeneity.
