Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a digital heritage initiative on Kasos Island, Greece, that integrates oral histories, family documents, and photographs into a participatory archive. Guided by an ethos of designing with care, the project combines community involvement with AI-assisted tools for transcription, thematic mapping, sentiment analysis, OCR, and image curation. Rather than producing a fixed repository, it develops an interactive platform enabling nonlinear exploration of memory across generations and geographies. By foregrounding ethics, affect, and shared authority, the project contributes to digital humanities methodologies for fragmentary, multilingual, and emotionally charged archives.
