Summary/Abstract: This paper examines how oral testimony, family documents, and photographic archives intersect in reconstructing the microhistory of Kasos, an Aegean island shaped by maritime mobility and diaspora. Based on eighty interviews and vernacular materials – dowries, wills, letters, and visual collections – the study emphasizes community-centred archival recovery. It explores cross-referential tensions between oral and documentary sources, the value of silences, and affective memory. Incorporating AI tools for metadata, transcription, and linking, with human-in-the-loop validation, the project reframes the archive as a dynamic, negotiated space contributing to debates on oral history, memory, and digital heritage.
