Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the potential of mentoring programmes to strengthen intergenerational solidarity, with a focus on the Women’s Mentoring Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Using a quantitative research approach, questionnaire data were employed to analyse the experiences of programme participants - young women (mentees), and their collaboration with, and support received from, experienced professionals and leaders (mentors) from the business sector, operating in fields closely related to the mentees’ professional development. Mentoring, as both a tool and a structured process, contributes to professional development, increased self-confidence, and intergenerational knowledge exchange, thereby fostering new patterns of leadership, collaboration, and mutual understanding. The mentoring process itself is conceptualised as a form of intergenerational solidarity, in which senior mentors transfer experience while younger participants introduce innovative perspectives, enhancing social inclusion and gender equality. The case study presented highlights the specificities of the local context through an analysis of the Women’s Mentoring Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The findings underscore the importance of formalising and evaluating mentoring programmes to ensure long-term sustainability, empower women, strengthen professional networks, and contribute to the long-term economic and social resilience of communities.
