Summary/Abstract: Due to the strengthening of the influence of the media, social networks and internet portals on the daily life of people, the honor, reputation and dignity of the individual are exposed to violations more than ever, which in the courts of the Federation of BiH, and especially the Municipal and Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, as the largest courts in the Federation of BiH, leads to an increase in the number of proceedings for claims for compensation for damages due to defamation, so that the analysis of the existing legal regulations and court practice in this regard is important not only for holders of judicial functions who decide in such cases, but also for journalists editors, owners of web portals and media companies, who are usually in the role of defendants in these cases. With this work, I tried to identify the basic concepts and problems that can be encountered in the resolution of defamation lawsuits, with special reference to SLAPP lawsuits, appreciating how the existing legal regulations. Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as relevant judicial practice, including judgments that I worked on as a judicial expert associate of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, and which I appreciate can be of help to judges and court expert associates who work on such cases.
