Summary/Abstract: Local Action Groups (LAGs) are essential tools in promoting rural development and social inclusion in the European Union. They can have a significant positive impact on local rural areas and implicitly on vulnerable groups within them, promoting inclusion and social cohesion. On the other hand, there are LAGs that may face various barriers that may limit the expected results. The main purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the impact of Local Action Groups (LAGs) on the process of social and economic inclusion of vulnerable groups, with a special focus on Roma communities, in the territories where these organizations operate. To answer the research question, which aims at how the activities and collaborations of the LAGs influence the social and economic integration of vulnerable groups, especially the Roma communities, in the territories where they operate, we conducted a qualitative study, a focus group, based on a semi-structured interview guide. The results of the study confirm the positive influence of the LAGs, along with the importance of simplifying administrative procedures, diversifying funding sources and stimulating the involvement of young people.
