Summary/Abstract: This scholarly study analyzes the theological document “Antiqua et Nova”, published by the Vatican in 2025, as the first serious attempt at a religious response to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI). The study considers the document not only as a Catholic declaration, but also as an ambitious attempt at moral intervention in the global technoethical debate. The study critically reads the content, structure and theological framework of Antiqua et Nova, while placing it in dialogue with the perspectives of Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Islam, Judaism and Eastern religions. The analysis explores whether and how religious ethics can be transformed into a real regulatory framework for AI, by assessing key themes such as autonomous weapons, disinformation, spiritual simulation and moral responsibility. The working hypothesis asserts that “Antiqua et Nova” is a valuable ethical-philosophical reference point, but its effectiveness depends on interreligious cooperation, a clear definition of AI, and practical mechanisms for implementation. The study also offers a series of futuristic scenarios in which possible interactions between religion, technology, and global governance unfold. In conclusion, conclusions and recommendations are formulated, oriented towards the transcendent humanization of technological progress. The main contribution of the study is the construction of an interdisciplinary, interreligious, and conceptually consistent framework for spiritual ethics in the age of algorithms.
