DIFFERENCES IN PARAMETERS OF SOMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF CENTERS OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF BASKETBALL PLAYERS' SUCCESS IN CATECHETICAL AGE

Summary/Abstract: The primary aim of this research was to determine intra-positional differences in somatic characteristics. The set of variables in this study consisted of 14 anthropometric measurements. Multivariate tests confirm that the groups of more successful centers do not differ statistically significantly from the group of less successful centers in terms of the linear combination of dependent variables of somatic characteristics. However, it was observed that the group of more successful centers, compared to the less successful centers, has more pronounced parameters of longitudinal dimensionality, a higher level of body mass, relative fat-free mass, relative muscle mass, and total body water. The results of this research can contribute to the field of study of specialists in determining their desired profiles, as well as the profiles of somatic characteristics, and their comparison with the profiles of top basketball players is indispensable. The information and results obtained from the analyses can serve as a basis for modeling programs for talent identification in basketball.
