Summary/Abstract: This study presents an onomastic analysis of ethnonyms in the northern Montenegrin municipality of Kolašin. It offers a systematic phonological and morphological description of local toponyms (place names), as well as the ethnonyms and possessive adjectives derived from them. The corpus is based on cadastral records and published written sources, subsequently supplemented with fieldwork. Following a theoretical introduction, the paper provides a detailed lexical inventory, enabling the identification of regular patterns in the derivation of ethnonyms and their corresponding feminine forms, morphophonemic shifts, and notable anomalies. Among the latter are ethnonyms with the suffix -aš (e.g., Vukotinaš, Slatinaš), which exhibit no gender differentiation, and toponym–ethnonym pairs like Baković, which share form but differ in accentuation. The research is structured as a comprehensive survey of the region’s ethnonymic system and is intended as a reference point for subsequent studies in Montenegrin onomastics and comparative regional investigations.
