Summary/Abstract: Key benefits of expansion in FMCG include access to new customer bases, reduced market dependency on specific regions or competitor development, increased brand recognition and improved economies of scale. Successful integration of newly acquired stores requires a structured approach to overcome obstacles such as software system unification, logistical adaptations, real estate assessments, service standards and the unification of merchandising and store layouts. One of the most complex and further ongoing aspects is aligning corporate culture, operational standards and workforce management. The study also highlights the importance of pre-acquisition due diligence, considering financial performance, competitive positioning and legal factors. Additionally, it discusses the role of digitalization, automation and after acquisition activities in enhancing efficiency. Sustainable growth in retail requires a well-planned and resource-backed strategy, where expansion is not just an ambition but an essential pillar of long- term success.
