Summary/Abstract: The text examines the influence of Stanislav Przybyszewsky's works on Georgy Raichev's prose, proving that the characters of both authors are driven to death in their striving for intimate communication. For this purpose, Raichev's short stories "Miscreant", "The lie" and "The Handmaid's Tale", as well as the short story "Lina" are read as intertexts of the novel "Satan's Children" in order to follow the moral struggle of a person mercilessly torn between the expectations of society, his understanding of morality, the urges of the body, the pleasure of the role of a victim, the fear of the future and the vague premonition of the inevitable. According to Przybyszewsky, crime is a consequence of passion, of the power of sex, because when faced with the flesh, a person is ready to cross all the limits of what is permitted. According to Raichev, crimes are a frequent manifestation of the spontaneous, they are a consequence of the relationship between a man and a woman, filled with jealousy, suspicions and betrayal.
