Summary/Abstract: The special courses Art as Therapy: Self-Expression and Special Needs in Art Education organized by Europass Teacher Academy of Creativity in Barcelona, Spain (March 4–9, 2024), have introduced the participants from five European countries into the fields of art, art therapy, and art as therapy. Several therapeutic art activities were explored, being inspired by the art as therapy approach. Art relieves stress, encourages creative thinking, enhances problem-solving skills, encourages divergent thinking, allows you to come up with unique solutions, boosts self-esteem and self-efficacy, supports cognitive and physical skills (memory, attention, etc.), increases empathy, tolerance, positive thinking, etc. The daily practical-creative and teamwork activities strengthened our “European sense of belonging” to the same community and our desire to share the common European identity, culture and values.
