Summary/Abstract: The primary purpose of this article is to examine the practices of archiving the lives and works of female artists in Bulgaria in the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. The article focuses on the unusual case of Lika Yanko, which, despite its specificity, turns out to be a striking example of the state of and attitude toward archival documents and information about female artists from that era. The paper clarifies significant gaps and discrepancies in the available information about Lika Yanko’s life and creative experience.
