The Yearly Review of the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia – 25 Years of Uninterrupted Publication

Summary/Abstract: With this issue, The Yearly Review of the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia reaches 25 volumes of uninterrupted yearly publication. Originally conceived as a project back in the 4th decade of the last century, when the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia was established, the publication was initiated by the ethnographer Vasile Munteanu (1966-2012) in 2001, at the time director of the Museum. From Issue IV onwards, under the scientific coordination of scholar Ion H. Ciubotaru, the yearly review has featured some of the most prestigious names in Romanian ethnology and ethnography, while also opening up to related fields and collaborators from both Romania and abroad, from established scholars to those at the beginning of their careers. A special feature of this publication is the generous space given to colleagues from the Republic of Moldova, thereby complementing the ethnographic image of historical Moldavia through studies and materials. Over time, our publication has become a reference in the field, recognized for its professionalism, stylistic rigor, and thematic consistency – a status consolidated and reaffirmed with each new issue.
