Summary/Abstract: This text presents how men perceive eating or refraining from consuming meat and animal products, and how the relationship between masculinity and meat is presented in internet memes. A meme is a concise and humorous internet statement. It is also a form of popularising ideas and beliefs, and a basis for cultural communication. Memes that deal with a specific topic can show how it is perceived. This article presents the results of an analysis of internet memes concerning the issue of men not eating meat and/or animal products. It provides an overview of how vegetarian and vegan men (veg*ns) are perceived in memes and discusses the themes raised in this context in relation to selected feminist and masculinity theories.
