Summary/Abstract: The article considers the concept of defining an educational institution. Features of educational institution management are highlighted. The concept of «methodological work» and the main approaches to its study are substantiated. Theoretical and practical features of managing methodological work in an educational institution are highlighted. Methodological work on the organization of innovative activities of an educational institution as a prerequisite for improving the effectiveness of the educational process is described. Experimental search work was carried out to identify the effectiveness of methodological work to improve the effectiveness of the educational process and provide visual confirmation of the experimental work. Innovative development management is considered as an element of the overall strategic development of an educational institution. Conducting methodological work on the organization of innovation activities to improve the effectiveness of the educational process involves a purposeful process of applying innovations (changes within the system) and experimental verification of the effectiveness and opportunities for using innovations. The experiment involved 16 teachers and students in grades 1-9. The practical significance of the experimental study lies in the fact that its conclusions and materials can be used by teachers-methodologists in the organization of methodological work in an educational institution in order to increase the effectiveness of the educational process.
