Summary/Abstract: The article presents the demographic evolution of the Jewish population in the former Câmpulung political district/county during the period 1900-1930, based on the analysis of three official population censuses, carried out in 1900 and 1910 during the Austro-Hungarian Empire and, respectively, in 1930, within Greater Romania. The author makes a series of comparisons between the censuses of 1900 and 1910 on the one hand, and 1910 and 1930 on the other, which lead to two conclusions. During the period 1900–1910, a slight increase in the Jewish population within the political district of Câmpulung is recorded, although the slowdown in the immigration of Jews from Galicia to Bukovina and the emigration of Bukovinian Jews to Palestine and the North American continent, phenomena present at the end of the 19th century, would have supposed a decrease. The Jewish population in the political district/county of Câmpulung slightly decreased between 1910 and 1930 in 34 localities, the author making two hypotheses, which are to be verified by documentation, regarding this phenomenon: the population losses that occurred during the First World War; the movements of the Jewish population to other areas in Romania, or outside Romania.
