Summary/Abstract: Traditional Chinese Medicine (中医, zhōng yī), a complex medical system with a tradition spanning over three millennia, is founded on a holistic conception that interrelates the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of the human being with the rhythms and processes of the universe. This study examines the main theoretical structures of this discipline — the principles of yin-yang (阴阳, yīn yáng), the theory of the five elements (五行, wǔ xíng), the concepts of functional organs (脏腑, zàng fǔ) and energy meridians (经络, jīng luò) — as well as traditional therapeutic methods, including herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, tuina massage, and energetic dietetics. In the context of contemporary integrative medicine, the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine provides a conceptual and practical framework oriented toward prevention and the maintenance of vital balance, summarized by the principle of “treating disease before its onset” (治未病, zhì wèi bìng).
