PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORTS IN UKRAINIAN HISTORY: THEORETICAL ASPECT

Summary/Abstract: The history of physical culture goes back to the times when physical and mental activity was directly limited by the conditions of life. The development of the national system of physical culture from ancient times to the 90s of the 20th century, the formation of physical culture in antiquity and modern sports competitions. The article proposes a theoretical approach to analysing the history of physical culture and sport in Ukraine in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. As a result of applying this approach, we have obtained relevant practical results. It is proved that the approach used opens up new opportunities for retrospective analysis of physical culture and sports, as well as forecasting the behaviour of this system in the future. The historical approach to the development of physical culture and sport in Ukraine in the XXXXI centuries is analysed. The proposed approach is based on the theory of systems and system analysis. As a result of applying this approach, the author obtained relevant practical results. The historical aspects of the development of physical culture and sports are considered. The main stages of the history of physical culture, from ancient civilisations to the present, are described. The influence of different cultures and religious beliefs on the development of sports is considered. Particular attention is paid to the history of the Olympic Games as an important historical event in the development of the sports movement. The author analyses the development of the sports component of society during the period when Ukrainian lands were part of the USSR and during the period of independence. It is proved that the presented analysis allows us to get acquainted in detail with the broad historical context of the development of physical culture and sports and to understand its significance for modern Ukrainian society.
