Summary/Abstract: The modern stage of linguistics development, which began in the second part of the XX century and is known as the post-generative or post-structuralist period, is characterized by a study of the close relationship between language and man. A new scientific paradigm in linguistics has emerged - anthropological (or anthropocentric), which focuses on language as a tool that serves man and its role in the linguistic space. The second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st century vividly illustrates the spread of humanitarian ideas of anthropocentrism or anthropocentrism in various areas of scientific knowledge, which are the basis for understanding the world around us, as well as the role of society in it. This article aims to offer an overview of various methods of text analysis used by researchers in modern conditions. Methodology. The methodological basis of the study was general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis. In the course of the work, the methods of discourse analysis and the method of comparative analysis were used. Scientific novelty. The work analyzes modern linguistic methods of text analysis. At the beginning of the 21st century, text theory provided a major theoretical and methodological shift in the analysis and interpretation of text as an object of linguistic research. Text analysis can no longer be considered as an exclusively linguistic activity, but as a phenomenon to be considered from the perspective of sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. Conclusions. The discursive direction of linguistic research is closely related to internal mental processes and develops in two main directions. The first involves the observation of linguistic phenomena with their subsequent explanation through the thinking mechanisms of human mental activity. The second is aimed at identifying the implementation of cognitive activity in linguistic units, structures and categories. Both of these directions organically coexist within the broader scientific paradigm of modern linguistics - anthropocentric.
