Summary/Abstract: The article considers general and some methodological approaches to the problems of patriotic education of children in China and Ukraine, as a component of the formation of their value attitude towards ethnic and family traditions. The author argues that solving the problems of patriotic education requires not only theoretical development, but also appropriate software based on the civic position and patriotic mood of adolescents and their educators. It is emphasized that the modern understanding of patriotism, citizenship is characterized by multivariate, diversity and ambiguity. In many ways, this is explained by the complex nature of this phenomenon, the multifaceted nature of its content and the diversity of forms of manifestation. In addition, the problem of patriotism is considered by different researchers in different historical, socioeconomic and political conditions, depending on the personal civic position, attitude to one's Fatherland, the use of different fields of knowledge, etc. It has been proven that in the upbringing of a person's patriotism in life, patriotic education through family relationships is especially highlighted. It is family values, instilled in childhood, that are a necessary foundation and support for further knowledge. Such qualities as respect, love, compassion, honesty, decency, loyalty and devotion should be basically laid by the family on the example of personal relationships, changing and supplementing according to age. Only having a certain base, a person can begin to form his own worldview, his attitude to surrounding events and people outside the family. The upbringing of patriotism of teenagers in the PRC is implemented in the social (through upbringing in the family, in the external environment, in educational institutions, on the streets and through state influence) and virtual (on the Internet) spheres of life. The Internet space on the patriotic education of teenagers in China is represented by several large Internet projects. The role of music lessons in secondary education institutions is determined, where children are involved in great values, the preservation of folk culture, spirituality, learn collectivism and cohesion. Several special methods and techniques for developing patriotism in students during music lessons at school are given, which will be useful for student trainees.
