Summary/Abstract: The article examines simple syntactic groups consisting of a head noun and a subordinate adverb, exemplified by къщата отсреща (‘the house opposite’). It reviews previous research on the structure of such groups, as well as on the specifics of their expansion through modifiers. The study analyses possible expansion techniques in three positions: to the left of the group, in the middle (between the group’s components), and to the right. It also identifies which element of the syntactic group is modified in each case.
