Summary/Abstract: The period between the two wars has brought in the life of the Romanian society geographical, political, demographical, religious and cultural changes. The city of Baia Mare is not an exception from these beneficial changes, being in accordance with the tendencies of that time, regarding the increasement in the quality of life through society events generated by the royal visits, the establishment of the famous School of Painting, the architecture or the urbanism configuration. All these events contoured and influenced the society, this city gaining in time the name of “the city of arts and inter-ethnical and religious harmony”, overcoming its statute as just a mining city. The century of an intense church life at Baia Mare (1924-2024), proves the desire, the sacrifice and the dedication of exceptional priests who successfully defeated and kept the orthodox faith through a serious and tight collaboration with the priests and the believers of this land but also through the coordination and careful guidance of the hierarch under this eparchy and of this city situated on the bank of the Sasar river, under the shadow of the Gutai Mountains.
