Summary/Abstract: From the beginning of the 1920s to today, Chinese art song based on texts from the poetic heritage has been developing for a whole century. In the initial period, imitation and direct borrowing from Western prototypes prevailed, but there were artists such as Luo Junmin and Li Yinghai who carefully approached the Chinese specificity from the position of modern composers and achieved an impressive modern song form with high artistic value. And although there are also unsuccessful attempts in this regard, the talented and dedicated work of the main core of composers and performers bears priceless fruits.
