Summary/Abstract: After the ten years of the „Cultural Revolution“ known as the „Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution“ (May 1966 – 1976), in 1978 the reform policy was officially launched. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Congress of the CCP, socio-economic and cultural life began to recover and develop rapidly. Chinese art songs of the 1980s were not only more numerous than those of the previous 30 years, but also displayed a significantly higher level of style and compositional skill, as well as piano accompaniment.
