Summary/Abstract: In conclusion, it can be said that throughout the 18th century the repeated overflow of water was an important problem for the Transylvanian society. Removing this danger require repeated and sustained efforts by state authorities, local governments, or communities. The passage of time and the initiation of the first constant works to improve the main watercourses will mark an important stage in the emancipation of the inhabitants of Transylvania from the tyranny of the forces of nature, but this does not mean that the risk of floods has been completely removed. By their number and by the extent of the material destruction and the psychological impact, the floods marked not only the history of this century, but also the geographical landscape.
