Summary/Abstract: The introductory part of the study focuses on the issue of terminological inconsistency associated with the designation of publications that combine cognitive and aesthetic functions. The terms non-fiction, non-fiction, and artistic-educational literature overlap or are used inconsistently in Czech professional discourse, which complicates the precise definition of the genre. Based on current research approaches, the article seeks to refine the terminology. The analytical part is devoted to the interpretation of selected publications that convey artistic concepts to young readers. The aim is to show how these books promote interest in the visual arts, develop visual literacy, introduce children and adolescents to important works of visual heritage, and familiarize them with the gallery environment not only as a place of presentation but also of active creation. The study examines the role of books as a medium that meaningfully stimulates cultural awareness, encourages creative interpretation of works of art, and enables child and adolescent readers of these books to perceive art as a dynamic and interactive process.
