Regulatory Framework of the Defense Industry in Bulgaria in the Context of European Union law - Harmonization, Challenges and Prospects

Summary/Abstract: The defense industry is located at the intersection of security, economy and law. Effective legal regulation is a key factor for its sustainable development and for guaranteeing the strategic interests of the state. Despite the achievements in harmonization with European requirements, a number of weaknesses remain in the Bulgarian legal framework, which should be overcome through consistent legislative and administrative measures in order to improve the Bulgarian defense industry and strengthen the partnership between EU countries
