Measures and strategies for preventing family abandonment and the institutionalization of children

Summary/Abstract: Despite the existence of normative acts and legislative regulations aimed at child protection and abandonment prevention, everyday reality shows that these norms are not always sufficient or effective in practice. Although the legislative framework is well defined, in many cases families and children continue to face risk situations, and abandonment remains a persistent problem. In-depth research could highlight existing gaps in the implementation of these regulations and how the interventions of responsible institutions can be improved. Identifying these aspects will allow the development of more effective public policies that will not only support families in difficulty but will also significantly reduce the risks of abandonment and ensure the protection of children’s rights at every stage of their lives.
