Summary/Abstract: The site Vardarski Rid – ancient Gortynia near Gevgelija is a space that has been intensively inhabited for about a thousand years, throughout the first millennium before Christ. With this, he is one of the most impor tant sites for the knowledge of prehistory and early antiquity in the Lower Vardar Valley. As one of the most popular forms of fine tableware, the relief molded vessels, in the Hellenistic period were made in the great ceramic centers of the ancient world, but also in the cities of Ancient Macedonia, such as Gortynia located on the Vardarski Rid site near Gevgelija. The most nu merous among them are the relief molded cups, made in local workshops from nearby centers, but there are also samples from larger tableware of different shapes decorated with floral motifs or figural scenes illustrated with mythological, historical or literally themes. 260 This paper refers to an exclusive find, precisely for a molded ceramic bowl with a relief representation of the god Apollo together with the nine muses, as a contribution to the artistic and spiritual reach of the genera tional, cultural, and religious living of the population of Gortynia. The pa per was discovered in a demolition layer in the late 2nd or early 1st century BC. produced in a local workshop in Gortynia.
