Summary/Abstract: In the media area, the reflection of the activities and life stories of people with disabilities has several characteristics, which emerge from the structure of the media entity, the editorial policy or the level of knowledge and awareness of the reporter/producer/editor on how the topics in which they appear should be treated persons with disabilities. From these considerations, we can say that as people with disabilities are presented in the public space, various attitudes and perceptions appear vis-à-vis this social group. An important role in this context is also played by the use of basic terms with their help in journalists can describe one or another situation in materials with the involvement of disabled people. Through information, discussions and permanent trainings about who people with disabilities are and how stereotypes and prejudices can be “dismantled”, we contribute to the education and awareness of the journalistic community that people with disabilities must be treated in media subjects from the perspective of their abilities and values generate, in the community they belong to.
