Summary/Abstract: The following interview with Petruška Šustrová, who was one of the most active political opponents of the normalization regime, was conceived as a double portrait of female dissidents (together with Ivanka Lefeuvre) with the aim of highlighting their political, cultural, and existential differences, in the context of questions concerning female identity, discrimination, and the memory of women. In it, the prominent activist, for example, positively evaluates that she grew up in an egalitarian society as a girl, or that later as a woman, she never encountered discrimination and did not see gender differences even in dissent. She vividly describes her experience with Western feminists who approached her when she was a spokesperson for Charter 77 in 1985, and also explains the reasons that led to the termination of Charter 77's activities in 1992.
