Summary/Abstract: This study demonstrates that the so-called doctrine of ideological struggle in culture, known as 'Zhdanovism,' was not just a short-term episode in the 1950s but became a permanent foundation of the communist system. However, the repressive regime, with its attempts to organizationally conform life and art, caused independent culture to shift into private spaces (apartments, village houses, cottages, and barns) during the normalization period. This text captures a unique theatrical project of young people who, within the underground, were inspired by the ideas of the avant-garde Polish theater director and theorist Jerzy Grotowski, and the subsequent repressions by the State Security.
