Summary/Abstract: This study explores the impact of cultural heritage on collective identity and the ways in which it can influence the development of a sense of belonging. It examines the nexus between cultural heritage and collective identity in Cluj-Napoca, highlighting historical narratives, multiculturalism, and the social dynamics and dimensions of cultural heritage in urban areas. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of sustainable development in preserving the city’s cultural fabric. Through this research, the authors aim to offer insights into the complex interplay between urbanism, social sustainability, and place attachment, unravelling the threads that shape Cluj-Napoca’s distinctive collective identity.
