Summary/Abstract: The process of globalization, i.e. the process of unifying economies, is taking place under theinfluence of various factors having a cultural and political nature, but it is also driven by a numberof factors with a technological dimension. Technological progress has made it possible to observeand participate in events all over the world, regardless of where we are at the moment. Mass mediaplays an important role in economic development on a global scale. The basic and decisive factor inthe process of globalization is the free movement of capital, leading to an increase in the complexityof commercial, capital and organizational links between economic entities.The aim of the article is to present the process of the influence of mass media (mainly theInternet) on the global economy. The main feature of the impact of the new media is their dynamismin the dissemination of information, which is often the pillar of actions taken on a global scale. Theauthors of this study have attempted to show the influence of mass media from the perspective ofissues related to the elements of behavioral economics, as an attempt has been made to show theprocess of mediatization of contemporary social and economic life. The authors of the paper havealso attempted to achieve the aim of the research with the use of the desk research method anda review of the literature on the subject.
