Summary/Abstract: The Armenians had a historical presence in Bukovina, contributing to the cultural diversity of the region, with an influences in areas such as trade, crafts and culture. The Habsburgs recognized their merits in economic, social and cultural life, rewarding them with noble titles to von Kapri and von Prunkulian families. The Armenian community dealt mainly with trade, but they contributed to the construction of Armenian churches in Suceava: Zamca Monastery, The Church of the Holy Cross, The Chapel of the Prunkul Family, The Hagicadar Church, an important place of pilgrimage for Armenians in Romania and the diaspora. Their demographic evolution had a peak period in the middle of 19th century, 3263 ethnics, followed by a demographic decline of this ethnic group, which in 1910, counted only 998 ethnics. Today, the Armenian community in Bucovina is smaller than in the past, but it still preserves its cultural identity and some of its traditions, and in the city of Suceava there are still traces of their cultural and historical heritage. Although very small, the Armenian community remains in the history of Bucovina through its economic, social and religious role and through the implications in the cultural and historical landscape that the former Armenian quarter of Suceava offers.
