How to recover relevant information from the research of destroyed Yamnaya tumuli

Summary/Abstract: In this study, we publish the results obtained from archaeological interventions on two Bronze Age tumuli located in the southwestern area of Prahova County, which were destroyed by unauthorized works. The methods of archaeological excavation and the results of scientific investigations are presented. Although these sites were severely damaged, a series of significant scientific information regarding the Yamnaya funeral phenomenon could be obtained. These findings were correlated with previously published information concerning the same area, as well as the Lower Danube region. Beyond these circumstantial catastrophes, the research of these mutilated mounds can still generate scientific evidence which, when placed in the proper context, can prove to be not only useful but also relevant.
