Summary/Abstract: In 2024, three prehistoric burial mounds were excavated in Păulești, uncovering four inhumation graves: three adult males and one subadult. Only the subadult grave contained grave goods — two silver hair rings. Red ochre was present in two graves, either scattered over the bones or placed nearby. One mound revealed a pre Yamnaya to Yamnaya sequence, while the other two each contained a Yamnaya grave. The Yamnaya graves date to the early 3rd millennium BC; the pre Yamnaya grave is slightly earlier. This study outlines the research methodology, describes the key features of the burial complexes, and analyses funerary rituals, grave goods, absolute chronology, and burial dynamics in the surrounding area.
