Music Elements and Contents in the Academic Education of Actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to highlight the need for comprehensive music education to support the development of acting competencies in musical theatre. By analyzing the current curricula of first and second cycle acting programs at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Tuzla, and the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, this study will determine the current role of musical elements and contents within the educational process. Through a review of relevant literature, the relationship between music and dramaturgy will be further explored, with a focus on how musical elements and content shape stage performance, emotional expression, and character interpretation, and how their integration into actors’ training can enhance performance skills and improve stage presence.
