Summary/Abstract: The present article is a review of the volume „The Ecumenical Vision of Father Dumitru Stăniloae”, signed by Daniele Cogoni and Anca Mariana Nechita. The book written and edited by the two authors, in a bilingual edition (Italian and Romanian, translated by the co-author) sets the general framework of the topic, showing that Father Professor Dumitru Stăniloae’s ecumenical openness is discovered and explored in relation to his human existence. The volume presents the multicultural personality of Father Dumitru Stăniloae not only as a „scholar”, „great theologian”, „man of life and living theology, a prominent figure yet to be discovered and appreciated” or „important authority of 20th century Orthodox theology”, but also as an „ecumenical theologian of reference for the entire interconfessional theology”.
