Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to present, by means of several specific examples, the close links existing, over the centuries, between the Holy Mount Athos and the Romanian countries, links materialized in particular by the support that the Romanian rulers, as continuators and preservers of the Byzantine tradition, have given to the monastic settlements there; this includes gifts of money and objects of worship, the financing of the construction and repair of churches and other buildings that still exist there today and, last but not least, the worship of Romanian monasteries to these Holy Places of Orthodoxy.
