Summary/Abstract: After the Russian aggression on Ukraine in February 2022 quotas and VAT forwheat, rape, sunflower and maize were eliminated. This and further EU liberalisationof duties on goods from Ukraine in June 2022 meant for Polish farmers-producers,the basic item of the food chain, nothing but a sudden confrontation with an overflowof agricultural produce on the Polish agri-food market, part of the European singlemarket. In 2022–2023, the Polish crop market faced a shockwave from the unforeseentriad phenomena: 1) oversupply of crops due to good harvests in previous periods; 2)crop price volatility on the international market; 3) inflow of dumping prices crops fromUkraine via UE’s solidarity transit corridors. This paper aimed to recognise the shock impacton the Polish crop market in 2022–2023 and its directions. Shock impacts on the basicitem of the food chain and the further ones – warehouse, distribution, were examined.Research and analysis were conducted upon a desk study of the European law, literatureand secondary data of the Statistics Poland, Eurostat and international organisations likeISO or UNEP. Comparative analysis method, deduction and semantic approach were used.
