Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to investigate to what extent the scenario of Moldova’s accession to the EU before the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, a repeat of the Cypriot model, is feasible. While this possibility, illustrated by the declarations of Josep Borrell in 2023 and more recently by Kaja Kallas in April 2025, is in line with the criteria and the accession procedure of the EU, this article highlights the shortcomings that come with this scenario.
