Summary/Abstract: The editorial board of the Romanian Journal of Jurisprudence likely invited me to write this laudatio in my current capacity as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bucharest. The Faculty of Law, as an institution, certainly has many reasons to express its appreciation for one of the leading figures of its prestigious civil law school, Professor Valeriu Stoica.
