Summary/Abstract: The paper presents one of the largest and most dramatic operations of the Army of Republika Srpska - operation “Star-94”. Based on historical sources and relevant literature, we have attempted to represent the wartime situation in Goražde, particularly the reasons that led to the execution of this operation. After intense fighting, the VRS units managed to get very close to the urban area of Goražde, especially on the right bank of the Drina River. At that moment, NATO forces openly supported the so-called Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina by bombing Serbian positions. This was done under the pretext of protecting UNPROFOR forces in the protected zone. The Serbian formations were not deterred by this and continued to advance, managing to inflict significant damage on NATO aircraft. Operation "Star-94" ended after long diplomatic negotiations, during which the leadership of Republika Srpska was issued an ultimatum that the bombing would continue and intensify if they did not halt their advance towards Goražde. Following this, the VRS forces withdrew to the area defined in the negotiations, and UNPROFOR units arrived in Goražde. However, this action allowed VRS troops to capture a significant portion of territory in the broader Goražde area, and it can be considered a success from the Serbian side. The Muslim side relied more on propaganda than on its fighters during this period, and it can be said that this tactic yielded some results, but not to the extent hoped for by the Muslim leadership.
