Summary/Abstract: Jealousy is a common phenomenon and accompanies man in each period of his life. The adult man, despite his well-developed consciousness and ability to de-centrate, i.e. perceiving various events and situations from different points of view, other people included, is incapable of eliminating jealousy from the repertoire of his emotions. Jealousy affects the quality of man's skill to regulate his relations with the surrounding world and is a cause of a great number of complicated behaviors. If it occurs with low intensity, it can become a constructive force of activity; however, when it grows beyond certain limits, it disrupts the course of interpersonal relations.
