Summary/Abstract: On one side Șt. O. Iosif and Maria Cunțan, two representative Romanian poets, stood out primarily through their successful interpretations of Heinian love lyrics. From the work of the German poet, Șt. O. Iosif translated from the love lyrics, which suited his special sensitivity. In many of his poems can be found influences from Heine's verses and Romanian folklore. Maria Cunțan stands out for her original way of rendering the tenderness of feminine feelings, sadness and loneliness. She takes, in general, very few elements from the Heinian lyrics, which she often processes and assimilates in her poetic creation. On the other side the four symbolist poets, Cincinat Pavelescu, Barbu Nemțeanu, Georgescu Oreste and Ion Minulescu wrote verses with a refreshing tone, some of them with romantic reminiscences, still keeping slight influences from the Heinian lyrics, which had become a fashion among the Romanian writers of the 19th century.
